Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

I Spy Life...(4)

As I cleared the kitchen island this afternoon I spied the makings of an "I Spy" post.

I spy:

1) peanut M&Ms -- it's Sunday!
2) a work in progress: a wire-wrapped moss green agate and gold crystal rosary with brass parts
3) a 3x2 print of the Mother of Tenderness by this artist. I am creating a small wall in my kitchen for Our Lady
4) Divine Mercy Minutes with Jesus -- new-to-me daily reading sent to me by a long distance friend
5) a jar of homemade coconut oil body butter
6) a tube of homemade beeswax lip balm. I made a big batch of lip balm and a small batch of body butter on Friday night. The lip balm is a tried and true recipe, and the body butter is new for me. Both are great (if I do say so myself). I would love to open an Etsy shop to sell body care products with proceeds going to needy pregnant women who chose life. What do you think of Lip Balm for Life? ;-) Sadly there is no time for a shop right now, so it's just for my family.
7) bronze crucifixes and centers for rosaries, and small Miraculous Medals for bracelets and earrings -- all for my Etsy shop
8) mango green tea -- it was warm today and fruity iced tea tasted so good
9) a baby boy quilt -- finally finished and headed to the post office
10) a new medication for me. It's supposed to help with pain I have from IC. Unfortunately I have to be on it for three to six months before I will know if it is working. It's going to be interesting getting used to it. I have to take it three times a day, one hour before or two to three hours after I eat. That's a pretty narrow window. I took it just before I took this picture and then right after I took the picture, I popped an M&M in my mouth. Oops. It's gonna be hard to get used to. It's also pretty dang expensive. Sigh.
11) eyedrops for Faith -- it's allergy season!
12) a plastic daisy that came in my dirt cup flower pot dessert at the American Girl Cafe. We came home with three but I think they have multiplied exponentially because I know I have put this daisy away 600 times.

  1. Love this pic! You are in my daily thoughts and prayers! Hugs, Barbara :) How I would love to visit over tea and m&m's and talk about mothering teenagers and young adults...oh, some days so trying. God is certainly putting my prayers for "patience in carrying my cross" to the test!

  2. Could you share the body butter recipe? I really want to get away from all the chemicals I am using in the form of lotion, hair products, etc.

  3. I was commenting at your blog just as you were commenting here ( though my clock seems to be off). I love when that happens -- we are true kindred spirits. Prayers for you, too. Someday we will look back and laugh...right?

  4. That is a beautiful quilt! I splurged and ordered one of Flor's Madonnas for each of the girls' for Easter. I also slipped in the same one you picked for myself! Now I will think of you when I look at it just as I do when I see Cupcake's quilt snuggled around her.

  5. I'm telling you, you have to put these into a real I-spy Catholic mama book!!

Love the peek into your weekend.
Maybe when I'm pumping breastmilk (not iron) (every 4 hours) I can remind you to take your pills? Boy, that is a hard margin to remember to take those darn things....Maybe the 2 hours after would be easier, when I am pregnant, I have to test my blood 1 hour after I eat and it's often much easier to do it 2 hours after!! I use a timer that goes off and doesn't stop til I stop it.

Now, to pump every 4 hours, I have to put a note on the microwave reminding me when 3 hours is, so when that comes, I have an hour to get those things done, like change diapers, go to the bathroom, and a ton of little things....and I often still go over the 4 hours!! It's hard to stop and go sit and pump.

    Whoa, went way off there...

That book looks great...is it too deep for this mushy minded mama?

  7. I hope the new meds will be helpful to you! You're in my prayers; please pray that tomorrow's MRI for me leads to some answers!
Love the "Mother of Tenderness." I'd not seen it before--it's a really sweet picture.

  8. Hey friend, think of you often because I've been praying the Rosary. I'm on day 3. Day 2 I didn't manage to finish it. Then today it was broken. I was about to send it to you to fix it, but then I found a tool and was able to fix it myself! Yay! I wish I could come to your house to learn how to make rosaries. Praying for you.
