Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

A friend in need

Since I started blogging several years ago I have learned the power of the internet when it comes to prayers. Through the internet, prayer need is spread far and wide and that is a beautiful, powerful thing.

Today a lovely woman needs your prayers. Through word of the web, I learned that Kim at Starry Sky Ranch is very, very ill. I don't know much except that it is an infection of or near the pancreas.

Please send your prayers heavenward. Kim is such a lovely, God-filled woman. She needs to get better soon and your prayers can help that to happen. I am calling on St. Padre Pio, whose feast happens to be Friday, as he himself suffered from poor digestive health.

Dear God, You generously blessed Your servant,
St. Pio of Pietrelcina, with the gifts of the Spirit.
You marked his body with the five wounds
of Christ Crucified, as a powerful witness
to the saving Passion and Death of Your Son.
Endowed with the gift of discernment,
St. Pio labored endlessly in the confessional
   for the salvation of souls.
   With reverence and intense devotion
   in the celebration of Mass,
he invited countless men and women
to a greater union with Jesus Christ
in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.

Through the intercession of St. Pio of Pietrelcina,
I confidently beseech You to grant me
the grace of (here state your petition).    Amen.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
is now and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen  (Say three times)
