Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Good/Bad Tuesday

Bad: Monday after a holiday -- any holiday

Bad: Sitting down at the computer and missing the ledge on which I set my coffee cup, thus spilling a good quarter cup of hot/black on me and the keyboard

Bad: no "n, h, y and 6" keys even after blow drying and cotton swab surgery

Bad: Not being able to even pay a bill online without "n, h, y and 6" keys and spending a good part of Monday to get my computer back

Bad: being entirely too dependent on computers

Good: AppleCare. And even though the Apple "genius" "wasn't suppose to" replace the keyboard from my mishap, she did anyway.

Good: new keyboard

Good: a peppermint chocolate milkshake at the Chick-fil-a in the mall where the Apple store is

Bad: losing a day of school

Good: losing a day of school (sometimes you just need to lose a day of school)
Good: getting back on the horse on Tuesday and knowing it's a four-day week now!

  1. Glad you got your new keyboard! That's a big one--we have the stripped down version, but it's wireless.

We'll be missing a LOT of school in the next few weeks.

  2. I once knocked over an entire glass of delicious wine (and I hadn't even taken a first sip yet...really) onto our keyboard...what a yummy smelling but very sticky mess. It took a long time to clean.

Glad you got a new keyboard.

  3. Frankly I'd be more upset about the lost cup of coffee.

    Sad but true.

  4. PEPPERMINT CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKE!

Um, excuse me... got carried away there.

But I AM so excited that it's THAT TIME of year again.

    :P

  5. Good: just to be alive and happy for you!

Bad: living in HI where there are NO Chick-fil-A's and having to be jealous of your milkshake!

  6. It is big, Sara. I saw the little minis at the Apple store, but I like having the number pad -- especially when calculating grades!

Oh, Cheryl, I would cry over spilled wine! I read online that you can actually put a keyboard in the dishwasher (!) and then leave it in a warm spot to dry for a week or so. Unfortunately I didn't have a spare on hand to test it.

    Margaret,
I could make another pot of coffee but the keyboard would have been $70. I love my coffee but I'm kind of cheap that way. Now Cheryl's wine? I would have cried.

'Tis that time, Meg. I don't normally go to the mall (in fact, I did not even know there was an Apple store there until the Apple guy told me), but I was willing to walk upstairs to check to see if Chick-fil-a had peppermint milkshakes.

    Sarah,
Until a few years ago we had no Chick-fil-a's in Columbus either. I must say the McDonald's Southern Chicken is a pretty close sandwich, but, alas, no peppermint milkshakes!

  7. hope you're doing better, barb!
i lost a day of school myself. this time of year is particulary rough on us. my mind wanders...and the children easily follow me nowhere. fast.
i came here thinking you did a knitting post! and wanted to tell you i can't wait to try that cap you were making. i printed the directions and it is "filed" under "projects". when i actually will have a chance to get to it remains to be seen. but a girl can dream, right?
    these teenagers are KILLING me...
thinking of you and wishing you well across the miles!
    xo.

  8. It's Chick-Fil-A night here, since they're sponsoring a fund-raiser for Middle Sister's school choir. I'll have to make the sacrifice and try that milkshake.
