Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Moderating

.
A pox (and I mean a really bad pox) on the person who left dozens and dozens of Chinese spam on all three of my blogs over the past two days. You caught me when I was down and for that you deserve a really bad pox. For now, my comments are moderated.

I injured my lower back badly. No sleeping, no walking, no sitting, no anything without extreme discomfort.

Today is Peach's birthday and I can't even wrap her gifts. If you have an extra prayer today I'm going to need it. Not just for the pain, but for patience. Thanks.

  1. Praying for you, Barbara (and an extra special bday prayer for Peach!) My blog was attacked by the malicious spam commenter, too. Feel better soon!

    God Bless,
    Jane

  2. I know that our Faith teaches us that we shouldn't wish evil on someone but how about wishing really bad hemorrhoids on them? Not evil, just...uncomfortable!

I wish I was right down the street from you. I would come over and attend to all of your wrapping needs. Gift bags and tissue paper can look really cute!!!

  3. 1). I second the "pox" sentiment. Spammers, esp. comment spammers, deserve something with oozing pustules.

2). prayers for your back and your patience going up now

3). Happy Birthday, Peach! Wishing you another year of blessings :)

  7. Sorry about the spam and the back trouble! What did you do to yourself??? I injured my back lifting my invalid mother before she died and spent a year at the chiropractor getting it fixed. It's so much better now, but it will never be perfect.

Alternate ice and heat! Take ibuprofen to relieve swelling. Are you seeing a doctor? Feel better!

And Happy Birthday to Miss Peach!

  12. Barbara, I'm so sorry! I was out of commission for 3 days b/c of my lower back. It was Action Man's b-day, and I had to get his cupcakes to him at school! Oh the agony. (btw I second the "ice" part.... not the heat. Ice saved me, heat just made it swell and hurt more)

Lots of prayers and sacrifices today for you, my friend!

    Blessings...
    :)

  13. Thanks, Jane. The Great Chinese Spammer must have made his/her rounds!

It wouldn't have bothered me so much except the spammer's blog was called Se*y and I had no idea what the links were to (in Chinese) -- one can only imagine. So I removed every one (I hope).

    Charlotte,
A bad case of hemorrhoids was just was I had in mind (or maybe my back pain).

Thanks, Aimee. I took a percocet that I have left from my surgery. It has helped quite a bit. I don't know why I didn't try it two days ago.

    Thanks Julia,
It is amazing to me how debilitating back pain can be. More than anything else I can think of.

    Thanks, Ana Maria.

Cheryl -- a real hug would be so nice. Thanks for the prayers.

    Dirtdartwife,
Thanks for the prayers -- much appreciated.

    Sara,
As crazy as it sounds, I think I messed up my back doing exercises. I am seeing a physical therapist to strengthen my pelvic floor muscles (since my reconstructive surgery) and I think I over did it and messed up my lower back.

Yes, ice and heat and Advil (and this morning a percocet). I have a call in to my doctor, but I don't know if they'll do anything since I can't get there.

    Thanks, Stina. And thanks.

    Regan,
Last night I was thinking how I've always felt that suffering brings us closer to God (that coming from someone who has not suffered much). And as wonderful as that end-result is, I don't think I could stand it for long.

Thanks, Jennie. Hope David feels better soon, too.

    Lana, Thank you!

    Nutmeg,
My husband insisted on the ice and I'm glad he did. The heat feels good too, though, especially since it's cold in the house! The hardest part is sleeping. When I move just the right way (which seems like everyway, I get those horrendous sharp spasms. Like a turtle stuck on my back -- I can't roll either way or get up!

  17. Barbara,

I will offer some of my back pain up for yours..

  18. Yep, I too spent 20 minutes yesterday deleting dozens of Chinese comments off my blog. I thought the word verification was supposed to prevent this sort of nonsense.

Was your person named "Sexy"? Makes me glad I don't read Chinese.

Hugs from afar & sympathy for that back pain. My lower back hurts too--it's this big belly--but that said, it's nothing like what you describe.

I'll offer these aches up for you, Sweetie. Hang in there.

  19. Same spammer hit me too. I'm with you on the bad pox. ;)

Praying for your bad pain to subside quickly and completely. Happy Birthday Peach!

  20. Thank you, Sarah. Your prayers are most appreciated.

    Regina,
Pictures soon. It ended up a good day for the most part (thanks to the percocet).

    Almost emptynester,
Thanks for the prayers, and the advice -- trying to rest.

    Kathleen,
    Let's pray for each other.

    Margaret,
Yes, we had the same spammer. Apparently he/she made the rounds. I don't even want to know what would possess a soul to spend time at such a rotten task.

You need to rest your back too, darlin'. I know mine will be better in a few days, but you have a ways to go with yours.

    Michelle,
Thanks for the prayers and the birthday wishes.

  21. A very happy birthday to your sweet Peach...may momma receive comfort and healing...soon!

That spammer only managed to get one past wordpress. The Akismet spam catcher does an excellent job and I've been spared a lot of the spam that's been circulating.

Bless you, Barb! Praying for you...

  23. I'll be praying for you too. Yesterday when I came I was the first here and didn't want to comment in case the chinese man came back....but just wanted you to know that I'm praying for you to heal fast and wish your sweet Peach a happy birthday!

  24. I'll definitely keep you in my prayers.

P.S. I've tagged you with a Honest Scrap Award. Love reading your blog!

  25. Thank you, Kimberly. Momma is going to the doctor today.

    Thanks Barb,
Peach has a wonderful day every day, but her birthday was extra special!

Thank you, Jamie. You are so sweet.

    Jack-a-roo's mom,
Thanks so much. You're so kind.
