Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Remnants

.

This is all that's left of Christmas 2008 . Everything else (except that one item that we always forget, but we haven't spied yet) is put away.

Every year I hang candy canes on the tree, just like my mom did. Do you? Now we can stir them into our hot cocoa.

Guests for dinner tonight. No snow yet. Must go clean.

  1. We have an abundance of that same remnance. My girl is using them up in my Godiva hot chocolate. I need to hurry up and buy her a cheaper mix! Anyway, my mum is sending another box - and it has candy canes in it - drat! It can be too much. But, I know that box also has a box of either See's or Frango mint chocolates. I can feel the calories already.

  3. What a great photo, Barbara! Yes, my kids love to hang candy canes on the Christmas tree, and they hate being told throughout Advent that they're off-limits!

Have fun with your guests tonight and enjoy your blizzard. ;)

  5. Did you take that photo? It's lovely!

And yes, we're still seeing ours come out for snacks. :)

  6. Sarah, Oh, Frango mints. Yum!

    Nancy,
It does feel better. Cleaner. A fresh start for Ordinary Time.

Thanks, Margaret. Ya know, I never tell my kids the candy canes are off limits, but they don't mess with them. Maybe all those years of telling them not to touch the tree!

Regina, Ooooh. That game would definitely get some kids in trouble around here. I'm surprised they never thought of it!

    Allison,
I did take that picture. Thanks. We'll be snacking on ours for quite a while.

  7. I asked my husband to get candy canes (which mysteriously appear on the tree during Christmas Eve night), and he came home with a box of 52!

My kids ate them all within a week.
