A turn in the weather has given us a lovely cool day, hopefully without rain. I remembered yesterday why spring and fall are the best times for hanging clothes in Ohio. Rain. We seem to get a lot in the summer. Storm after storm. Dark cloudy day after dark cloudy day. It's been raining on and off for more days than I can remember. Today looks promising. Of course, most of the laundry was done yesterday. The cool temperatures have me working on a list of things to do, though.
First thing on the list is to finish sewing nightgowns. I bought two lengths of fabric and have already made one. I have been sewing Peach nightgowns for years, but never made one for myself. They are really lovely. No itchy seams, or scratchy trims. They should be nice for the days just after my surgery when I'll likely be living in my nightgown.
On Doug's list of things to do is paint the exterior of the house. The man really has odd timing. I'm having major surgery next week, and he starts a new job in a month. And now he wants to paint the house. You see, he is anticipating being at home to help me. That means he will be bored. So, why not paint the house when your wife is stuck inside recovering? I can name every major project that the man got into when I was recovering from child birth. He just can't sit still. And then, when I ask for help (which is why he is supposed to be home) I get, "I have to get this done." (And don't think I'm just ratting him out to you, because I already told him what he would do and he just laughed. He knows.)
I feel bad for the kids -- they will get the short end of the stick. I'm glad you girls offered me all those movie titles yesterday -- I've reserved most of them. We'll make the best of it with movie days and nights, and hopefully some board games and some reading.
Well, I'm off to tackle my list -- a trip to Target is on that list, and a few more freezer meals. I'm almost finished with those -- two freezers almost completely packed.
Have a great day, friend.
