Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Miss Fannie's Hat

Since we're talking books today, I thought I'd talk about this one.

It's so much more light-hearted than the others, so we can all have fun!

Miss Fannie's Hat was written by Jan Karon, who you probably know from this series. And while not a Catholic book, it is based on a deeply religious woman (as deep as you can get in a picture book) who is just a lovely character. I don't want to come off trite. She is lovely. She's just a sweet as icing roses.

And while Miss Fannie reads her bible and does a good deed for her church, which is also lovely, what I completely enjoyed about this book was the very sweet old ladiness of Miss Fannie. Usually in children's books, old ladies are portrayed as mean, or silly. But, Miss Fannie is just like an old, young lady. She's just precious.

My little Peach has enjoyed it more than a few times, too, so it's not just me.

I hope your library has a copy. Keep it as long as you can.
