.My first baby is 18 years old today. It hardly seems possible, since I don't feel older than 18 myself (mentally -- my body's another thing)! How could I possibly have an adult child?
~~~~~~~
My labor was induced on a chilly October morning, 10 days after my due date. Yesterday I told him that he was a procrastinator even then! He was my first-born; I didn't know what my babies would look like until he was born, and then the mold was cast -- they all looked like him. My mother came the morning after (he was born at a few minutes to 11 p.m.) and we undressed him and counted all his fingers and toes again. Then we spent the day passing him back and forth -- him temperature was low and we kept him warm. What a miracle!I always wanted children, but never knew how easy it would be to devote my entire life to them. What a blessing, each and every one.
Happy Birthday, son!
Hello! Happy bday to Geoff! I cant and dont want to imagine my children turning 18! I know it will be here before I realize it. They just grow up too fast!
ReplyDeleteTake care
Marcea,
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to get your comment! I had no idea there were other bloggers in Doug's family. I'll be putting your link on my sidebar so I check on you guys regularly!
Thanks so much for stopping by and wishing my big boy a happy birthday! Obviously I can't imagine my baby being 18 either, since I'm not feeling older than 18 myself!
He looks just like you!
ReplyDeleteIs his name pronounced "Jeff-ree" or "Joff-ree"? I love that spelling!
Happy Birthday, sir!
Beautiful slideshow Barbara! I love the one of him as a toddler with the food all over his face! ;-) Congratulations to Geoffrey! I know you already had a wonderful party but hope you have a lovely day too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Matilda,
ReplyDeleteIt's pronounced Jeffrey -- my husband "won" on the spelling. Unfortunately he has to correct people a lot, but it is pretty.
Thanks for the happy wishes!
Thanks Deborah,
That picture is his first birthday and that was his birthday cake all over his face. For each first birthday, I gave the children their own little cakes so they could make a huge mess and no one would have to eat after them!
Thanks for the wishes!
Happy Birthday to Geoff! I love your slide show! Hope he had a great day!
