Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Our new grads!

Yesterday was commencement for Joshua and Taylor from The Ohio State University (yes, The Ohio State University -- they never leave off that "The"). While I didn't walk at my own commencement (sour grapes -- long story) and Geoffrey didn't for the same reason, Josh and Taylor decided they wanted to, and I think they were glad they did.

Though it was summer commencement and the university didn't bother with a prominent keynote speaker (dean of the college of agriculture -- ??), they walked across the stage and proudly received their diplomas, and Joshua even received a compliment from his dean on his bow-tie! It was a long day, with over 1700 graduates, and over 700 doctorates named individually, and this was a small commencement, since it was summer semester. But, at the end of it all, they have finished their college days and they both have jobs and are moving on to the next part of their lives, together. I'm so glad that they are already married and are doing this together.

A few pictures of the day:

on the way to the arena -- this shot was taken by an Ohio State staff photographer and made it on the Ohio State FB page

Happy, happy day!

Now that those two are graduated, next weekend is welcome weekend for Ohio Dominican University and Noah! Why did I think that after the wedding, the summer was going going to calm down? Ha!
