...two turtle doves, made from braided challah dough, and topped with sesame and poppy seeds for color, and with almonds for eyes and beaks. I know they don't look much like doves, but the bread was wonderful with the chicken noodle soup we had for dinner.

I have not been in a baking kind of mood this Christmas, but you may help me get inspired with these lovely posts!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been in the mood either, Jenny, but I decided to do something for the Twelve Days and now I'm determined. I guess I've got my German on. ;>)
DeleteI absolutely love this. I have always wanted to do something for the 12 days, but I could never think of what to do. You are so creative!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Phyllis. I think Jessica at Shower of Roses does one big party with something for every night, but by the Twelfth night we'll be back to just four of us, and that's not enough to eat all the food!
DeleteMerry Christmas, Barbara! I just love your 12 Days of Christmas and am looking forward to seeing the rest (no pressure;)
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see your Christmas posts! These challah hens are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour home looks amazing, and that bread? Beautiful. I can smell it through the screen.
