First Day of Christmas

For the Twelve days of Christmas, there's a treat for every day (I was singing there -- did you hear me?).


On the First Day of Christmas... a Partridge in a Pear Tree Cheese Ball.

Christmas Cheese Ball

16 oz. cream cheese

10 oz. shredded cheddar cheese

4 oz. blue cheese

2 T. minced onion

1 T. Worchestershire

Mix ingredients and shape like a Partridge. Red pepper was used for legs/feet and beak, almond slices for the wing feathers, and the end of an olive for the eye. Flat leaf parsley was used for the "tree." Serve with crackers. Enjoy.

 According to many sources, the song The Twelve Days of Christmas was used to teach the truths about our faith when they were unable to speak about it.

The Partridge in the Pear Tree represents Our Lord Jesus Christ. The mother partridge will feign injury to lure her predators away from the young, as Christ died for our sins. My thoughts are also that the tree could be the cross Our Lord died upon, or the Pear Tree could be His representation as the new Adam, and the Pear Tree the tree knowledge of good and evil.
