If you would like to bless your Advent wreath (or fire-proof wreath) today, below is a short blessing and a prayer for grace during Advent.
Advent Wreath Blessing
All: Who made heaven and earth.
Leader: O God, by whose Word all things are sanctified, pour forth Your blessing upon this wreath and grant that we who use it may prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ and may receive from You abundant graces. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
The wreath would then be sprinkled with holy water.
This blessing can then be used during dinner grace as the weekly candle(s) is lit:
Advent Table Blessing
Leader (dad):
Blessed are You, Lord, God of all creation;
in the darkness and in the light.
Blessed are You
in this food and in this sharing.
Blessed are You as we wait in joyful hope
for the coming of Our Savior, Jesus Christ.
All respond:
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours, now and forever.
Leader:
Come, Lord Jesus!
All:
Come, quickly!
