Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Just a little more distraction

Yesterday was one of those days where you realize if you don't take your own health care into your own hands you are sunk. Or sick, as the case may be.

Before I left for my physical therapy appointment yesterday, I called my uro/gyn (specialty of urology and gynecology) to be certain that the urinary pain I have had since last week was not somehow related to the ultrasound therapy/deep muscle massage I received from the physical therapist on Monday and Thursday. When the nurse called me back after checking with the doctor she apologized sincerely for having told me last week that I did not have a UTI, because I do. She read the wrong lab report when I called last week to ask the results of the culture. Sure am glad I called as no one else would have been checking on that lab report. Started antibiotics yesterday. I thought there might be a chance that the UTI was causing these odd heart issues, but it seems unlikely without the presence of a fever (and I checked that last week).

After thinking about the fact that I'd had a UTI for over a week, I thought I'd call the cardiologist's office to make sure it wasn't going to be a problem taking the stress test with a UTI, because they will put in an IV and inject a dye to get the pictures of my heart. I'm glad I called, because the scheduler who scheduled me for today (and I know she did because I told her today was better than tomorrow) actually scheduled me for tomorrow. If I had not called I would have fasted from food and all drinks but water all morning for a 1 p.m. appointment only to find I didn't have an appointment.

And so, I am distracting myself for another day. Unfortunately tomorrow is Noah's birthday, but fortunately it's the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary, so I'm covered, right?

And all your prayers will cover me as well, because God operates outside of time and He knows when I need them.

In the meantime, I'll work on curriculum choices because that list never was finished yesterday.

A much cuter picture of my girl than yesterday (with a lemon stick in her mouth) with our produce rewards (and a blackberry pie for my husband) from the Farm Market.

A sleepy kitty. Such is the life.

  1. That is a crazy set of mistaken circumstances! I think you are meant to be going on the Assumption after all - Mary is watching out for you!

On a completely different note . . . now I want blackberry pie. Yum. :)

  2. I'm glad you're listening to the prompts to call! Such craziness!

I have a heart appointment tomorrow, too (such a great day to have it), so I will keep you in my prayers.

Don't you have mixed feelings? Part of me wants answers, so almost hoping they find something. But then, you don't want anything serious, either.

  3. Thank goodness you called! What a mess! I prayed my rosary for you yesterday. I hope it all gets straightened out!
