Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

needle & thREAD

needle and thREAD

I got up early this morning to work on a new design for my scapulars. I like it, a lot.

A little motivation to get up early was the series Ginny linked to earlier this week, Call the Midwife. I just watched the end of the sixth episode, the last one currently available at pbs.com. Oh my gosh -- I am so hooked. This series is right up my alley. You might recall last winter I got hooked on Bramwell, also set in East London, but a much earlier time.

I just started my current read, The Reluctant Saint: The Life of Saint Francis of Assisi by Donald Spoto. The book has mixed reviews so I am withholding judgment until the end. I admit to having a hard time this time of year getting into a good book -- too many other things that must be done.

Always at the end of my arm this time of year, is a cup of something hot. This morning my very hot black coffee, with just a wee drip of honey. Love.

  1. The scapular design is so pretty.

I have not watched that show yet, but I want to. I just keep falling asleep when I put the kids in their beds!

  2. Barbara, I LOVE the scapular. Will you be selling those on your site or are those just for donating?

  3. I just started watching "Call the MIdwife" -- I am through episode two. I love it -- although I have to admit that there are several scenes that give pause to a girl who is contemplating birth in four short weeks! ;-)

Also, I love the scapular design. Hope you are well. <3

  4. The scauplar is beautiful - then again I love all your embroidery. =) I watched the first couple epidoes of Call the Midwife, but then I decided I have more important things to do. I just find it hard to sit down and watch anything lately. It takes up so much time. I do like to watch something while I'm folding laundry, but truth be told, I'm such a wimp..even the midwife show had too much drama for me. Lol. I need zero drama right now. 6 days til hubby's home!

  5. What a gorgeous scapular.

And I love "Call the Midwife" also - put the season's DVD on my Christmas wish list :).

  6. I love the scapular design! The BBC shows appeal to me, but I don't get the remote very often. Hot tea or spiced cider sound good today, but I think hot cocoa will win out. Hope you enjoy your book! -- Rosemary

  7. Call the Midwife is such an excellent series! Can't wait for it to return. It's right up there with Downton Abbey and Doc Martin. And I, too, love the new scapular design. --Linda
