Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Good/Bad Tuesday

Just popping in to let you know what I am thinking about these days. In abbreviated form.

Good
Caramel Apple Cheesecake Dip. Very good.

Bad
Political phone calls. Especially those with the caller ID "Member Alert" from the man who is currently president running for re-election. Member of what, Mr. President? Not good.

Exactly two weeks to Election Day.

Good
Pumpkin spice Granola. Every day for breakfast. Yum.

Bad
Tendinitis in the elbow of the dominant arm.

Good
Leaf rain. And an outdoor canopy of green, red, gold and brown.

Bad
I just came across this article (note: grown up content at link). It makes me rather sick to think how I have contributed to that $2.5 million toward same-sex marriage legislation. I sure am going to miss the convenience of that smiling box on my porch. I am working on a letter to Amazon's president so it doesn't look like I just died when I don't log into my account (which is almost a daily thing -- very bad). It's a good thing my Prime membership was getting read to expire.

PS Spread the word on that one. If you're like me, you've been under a rock and you had no idea. I think there are quite of few of us under that there rock.

Good
How much money we will save when I don't log into my Amazon account. No more instant books. Unless they are free.

I'll be back later to let you know about a rosary I will have in my shop with proceeds to our local PDHC.

Also, my friend Gina started chemo treatments today. If you have an extra prayer, I know she'd appreciate it.

  1. Thanks for sharing that link. Our family will also be saving a lot of money.

We usually do our Epiphany gifts through Amazon, but this year, I've been slowly ordering things through religious orders or Catholic etsy shops. (its a bit more expensive, so I have to spread it out a bit more.)

  3. hmmm....I've been under that rock with you...just think of all the money I'm gonna have in my checking account by not visiting amazon and target!!! :)

  4. I read about that a few weeks ago, at least as far as Amazon is concerned. In the case of Target, that is a business supporting gay marriage, and so I won't support them anymore by shopping there. As far as Jeff Bezos goes, though, he is an individual. Amazon is not supporting gay marriage; its CEO is. I know that some of the money from my purchases goes to his paycheck, but a lot of money from a lot of purchases goes to a lot of people, and I have no idea what they do with it after it leaves my hands. I don't believe businesses have any business getting political, but it's our right and duty as individuals. I think you can take either road as far as Amazon goes and not be wrong. Personally, I will keep using their services.

  5. Yes. I am so tired of the political phone calls AND junk mail. It'll be a relief to have it over with. I can't wait to try that dip! We have a huge box of golden delicious and red delicious that are waiting to be cut up and dipped. :)

I am keeping Gina in my prayers. How did she like the hat? I just knit the baby a super quick swirl hat. I wanted/needed something substantial to hold that belongs to the baby even if she hasn't worn it yet. I'm weird I guess.

  6. Prayed for you and for Gina earlier today. Hope Joshua is feeling better. (My spouse is recovering from a surgery that went very well). The pics with fall color are lovely. Thanks for sharing! -- Rosemary
