Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

just hangin' out

I'm hangin' out in the kitchen today baking (blogging while I wait for the dinger to ding). I offered to bake a cake for Doug's niece's birthday (she definitely remembered this cake I made her last year!). When I offered, I didn't know that there would be 50 to 70 children and parents at that party. An 11 x 15 cake (two cake recipes together) and abuncha cupcakes. Wanna come help me frost? We can make sangria....I'll be your best friend....

Faith is hangin' out in the trees as you can see.

Noah was applying online for a job as a bagger at the local Kroger. Keeping our fingers crossed. That boy needs something to keep him busy this summer.

Doug is out putzing in the yard trying to keep the dog out of the garden. He put up a gate and has had to add about half a dozen extra slats to the fence. That dog is a nuisance.

Josh's girlfriend will be here in a while and I think I'll send them on some errands I can't get to myself (while I am waiting for cupcakes and cake to bake).

I think this 11 x 15 cake might take several hours. Yikes. I'll be frosting at midnight!

What are you up to today?

  1. I wanna spend an afternoon frosting cupcakes with you!!! And then you could teach me how to make beautiful quilts. And then we could watch a movie, something BBC, OK? That sounds like fun!

  2. Trying to kick a nap hangover and then stay awake until Middle Sister is ready to be picked up at her friend's grad party (20 minutes away). Still have to clean up the kitchen from dinner. Ooo, such an exciting life I lead!
If I had a birthday cake like that one you made her last year, I'd be begging for a rerun too.
Love the pic of Faith up a tree. Summer fun!

  3. I think I'll answer in my blog...it's kind of quiet over there!

I appreciate your comments -- sometimes I feel like I'm talking to myself!
