Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Thankful on Monday

Blogger is being a big butt to me. It keeps kicking me off mid-post. Don't know what's up with that. I switched back to the old format, so we'll see how this works.

Just checking in on this busy pre-Thanksgiving Monday to tell you a few things I am thankful for.

I am thankful that, unlike some people, I don't have to kill a turkey this week to eat a turkey this week (not that Jennie has to kill a turkey, but that's kind of the point behind raising them, right?).

I am thankful that my family likes the same dishes for Thanksgiving every year. This year I don't have to use any recipes. Yeah!

And I don't think I ever realized before how inexpensive Thanksgiving dinner is, even if you have to buy a turkey (which I got for 9 cents if you take off my Giant Eagle food perks). Thankful for cheap dinner.

Now, Faith and the dog are having a good time this morning with a harmonica. Faith plays and the dog sings. She really does. And I'm going to go now and confiscate the harmonica. And do some laundry. And go grocery shopping for cranberries and potatoes and butter. Yum.

Happy Thankful Monday.

  6. Harmonicas are Outside Toys--if I am inside.

I'm trying to be thankful that I'm not cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year, but I have to say I really love cooking Thanksgiving dinner. However, given my husband's recent history with gout, I am thankful that I'm NOT cooking, since my favorite stuffing recipe is pork-sausage based. Now I have a whole year to work that out.
