Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Warning, warning

If you are as old as I am you might remember the television show Lost in Space. I always loved when the robot excitedly waved its arms shouting "Warning, warning" when the family was in danger.

I wonder if the folks in Washington DC are feeling like they should wave their arms and shout "warning, warning." They've had an earthquake and now a hurricane in the same week. Do they get the message? Do they even see the possibility of a message?

I am praying for those in the path of the hurricane including my brother and his family in southern Maryland.

My plan is to cast on a sweater and knit my through the hurricane from my spot on the sofa in the center of the state of Ohio where the skies are blue and the breezes mild.

  1. The only people who are going to see a message in a natural disaster (or two) are the people who are willing to LOOK for one.

  2. You knit and I'll quilt my way through the hurricane. I used to live in Cincinnati and we had sooooo many tornados to get through. I love Arizona, we only have the heat here for the most part! No hurricanes, no tornados, no earthquakes (so far), just the heat! :)

  3. Danger Will Robinson! Remember the show well.

We survived Irene, us East Coasters. Sorry to hear your week was tough too. We can start fresh and hopeful tomorrow, right?

  4. Katherine here! I know I've left a few comments over on your food blog (probably as Kate or Kat), but I don't recall whether I've commented here before. I'm shy, so you'll have to forgive my lack of comments.

I've been home for the summer (back to college this week!) with my family in Maryland--and the past week has been absolutely insane. First hail, then an earthquake, then aftershocks in the middle of the night, then a hurricane, then tornadoes DURING said hurricane...and then an absolutely gorgeous day. Eighty-six degrees and pretty feels a bit surreal, actually.
