Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Prayer request

I took Joshua to the doctor today to check on a little heart fluttering/racing feeling he's had in the past two weeks.

The doctor is sending us first thing tomorrow for blood work, a stress test and echocardiogram. Would you offer up a prayer please that it's nothing serious? And that poor Joshua will stop worrying. You can probably figure out that worrying about a heart problem is not very good for the ol' ticker.

Thanks so much.

  3. I so enjoy your blog! I just wanted to quickly share that my 14 yo daughter experienced this same thing last year....racing heartrate, panic, 'creepy' feeling. It wasn't happening everyday just once in awhile. But long story short - after many dr. appts., an echo, a monitor etc. Everything came back normal. We were told this is not uncommon with teens. Putting all the pieces together we realized it happened within 24 hours of having some form of chocolate or caffeinated pop. (even though she didn't have much on a regular basis) They recommended going without for a month and then have some. And sure enough, it happened again. Just wanted to share our story to maybe ease your fears alittle - it is indeed scarey! I will pray for Joshua.

  6. Praying! I went through that in High School and was diagnosed with PVCs (premature ventricular contractions) a benign arrhythmia that often occurs with stress. I asked the intercession of St. John of God, patron of heart patients/heart disease.
