Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Ohio House Passes the Heartbeat Pro-Life Bill

.

Yesterday the Ohio House passed three pro-life bills, one of which  -- the Heartbeat Bill which passed 54 to 43 -- would be the most conservative pro-life bill in the nation. The bill would prohibit any abortion in which a fetal heartbeat can be detected, often as early as 18 days. It would prevent almost 95 percent of all abortions. Of course, a baby is still a baby even before a heartbeat, but just think how many could be saved.

Yea Ohio!

I heard that Georgia and Texas are working on similar laws, so if that's your state, contact your state representatives and tell them how you feel!

The other two bills which passed, one which prevents abortions at state hospitals and the other prevents an abortion after fetal viability, are huge pro-life wins. Of course, our local p.o.s. newspaper reported it as being "restrictive abortion legislation." I say, "Pft. A win for the babies!"

I realize that these are not perfect pieces of legislation, after all, as long as abortionists are "taking care" of pregnant women (i.e. listening for fetal heartbeats), the fox will still be in charge of the hen house, but it is a move in the right direction! And if one baby is saved...

  4. That's wonderful news!! I hadn't heard that about Ohio so thank you for sharing the news! You're familiar with Indiana's decision to defund Planned Parenthood? Fabulous news. An eye opening youtube video from Live Action about Cecile Richards, Director of Planned Parenthood. Patty blogged about it here http://freakinominalblog.blogspot.com/2011/06/i-stand-with-indiana.html
