Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Yarning Along...

.

...with Ginny.

I was a busy knitter this week. I cast on and finished this hat for Faith. It's cute and is the perfect color to match her coat. She likes to match. I bought the yarn some time last fall with the intent to make mittens, but this would not be good mitten yarn -- too stretchy as it is 80% cotton. It's soft, however, and made a great hat -- it's Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in Prosperous Plum. The pattern came from here. It was a good pattern -- quick to knit -- and now I have more yarn ordered as Noah has requested one in black and white. Obviously I did not do stripes.

After the hat was finished Faith asked if I would make Kit a hat to match the one I made her two years ago. That was quick to crochet, and so then I cast on a sweater for Kit. Never thought I'd be knitting doll clothes. ;-)

I am still reading Everything is Grace by Joseph Schmidt, FS, but instead of showing you another picture I decided to show you a book that Faith has been reading since she received it for Christmas. Mostly we use it during our school hours -- it's great for copy work -- but we both love the pictures and the warm and loving words. The Psalms are translated to be more easily understood by a child, and though some would argue that they lose their poetic quality, and I would agree, fortunately we get the real deal plenty around here. The book is titled Psalms for Young Children by Marie-helen Delval. Here is another photo of the art.

  1. Love the hat it looks great on her. I like to make knits and clothes for dolls because they are much smaller.
I'm going to go check out the pattern.

  9. Oh the hat looks great and the color is fantastic! I have yet to try knitting doll clothing but I'm sure my daughter is going to start asking *grin*. I'm so happy you shared the book! I've been looking for a good book on the psalms that I could read through with my youngest two so I'm definitely going to check and see if I can find a copy :)
