Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

6/52

.
52 weeks of daily life in pictures: trials and celebrations,
the extraordinary and mundane --
whatever is unique to the week.
Join me if you like.

Before I get to my pics for the week, I would like to ask my dear friends here to offer a prayer for my niece Rachel. You may remember that I was knitting a scarf for her as she was having surgery to remove a tumor in her neck. She learned the results of the biopsy yesterday and they were not good. The tumor was cancerous and further testing must be done to determine to the origin and extent.

The homework table -- to which a girlfriend is a new addition.
For reasons unknown to me
the homeschooled child does not want his face to be shown.

Big kids coloring like little kids. Very seriously.

I made Kit a new hat and they are now "twins."

A new hat for Faith and snow in her eyes.

Creme Brulee for the feast of St. Josephine Bakhita, only because I started too late in the day for the true Creme Carmela.

A bad habit started in the afternoons -- a little pick-me-up.

Below you'll find a linky list because so many lovely women decided to join me in my 52 Weeks project. There are no rules (except the two below) -- if you want to start your 52 Weeks this week, go for it! I will keep the links up until next Wednesday, so you have almost a week to do it.

(1) Make sure you copy and paste the URL of your 52 Weeks blog post ( and not your main blog URL). You could also use of Flickr photo page if that's how you do things.
(2) Include a link back here in your blog post or flickr photo page.

  1. I'll keep your niece in my prayers, Barbara.

(And those Cadbury bars sing their siren song to me every time I pass them on the store shelf. They are so, so good.)

  3. Thank you, Aimee. And I can hear the song of the Cadbury even when I am no where near it. It's powerful strong. ;-)

Thank you, Cheryl. And I never thought of that advantage. In the pic she is studying Spanish -- none of us do Spanish. :-)

I love Kit's hat! Faith and her doll are so cute together =) You made the one Faith is wearing, too, right? Adorable!

Working on my weekly post and hope to have it up soon. Have a great weekend!

I'm trying to getting into an afternoon tea habit. I need a little relaxation. Chocolate is usually part of it, too!

  9. Love the hat(s) and the chocolate!Praying for your sweet niece, Rachel. Several years ago, I had a thyroid tumor (which turned out to be benign). However, the doctor told me that unless I had surgery, I would have to learn to live with the quarter-sized lump. God had a different idea, though. After I was in an intense group session of praying for SOMEONE ELSE'S HEALING, the lump suddenly disappeared completely! I learned then that one key to healing may be to forget about yourself and pray for others. I don't mean that we are not to pray for ourselves, but that often the faith we exercise on behalf of others opens the way for healing of all kinds. Fear is the opposite of faith: when we forget to be afraid, we open ourselves up to the workings of grace -- and faith is often enabled. (Sorry for writing so much). Rosemary
