Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Addendum to Helpful Hints

.

I was standing in the vet's office this afternoon when I recalled one helpful hint that I left off the list. Of course, there wasn't a thing I could do about it until this evening.

When I took the Christmas ornaments down from the tree this past weekend, it occurred to me that I am the only one who knows which Christmas ornaments belong to which child. Even the children don't know all of the ornaments that belong to them, except with obvious ornaments like the ones with pictures or names, and the ones that are very special to them. So when I packed them away I divided them up and placed the tissue wrapped ornaments in separate bags with names. I told my husband that if I die between now and next Christmas at least he will know whose ornament is whose. He didn't seem that thrilled, but it made me really happy.

Fancy packing system, eh?

  1. ok, I just had to laugh when I read this because I do this kind of thing to Rob all the time. I give him specific instructions/set things up so that in case I die he'll know my wishes about certain things. I've told him how to get on the blog and Facebook "just in case."

And he just now happened to read this over my shoulder and he said, "I don't remember you ever showing me that." I am not doing a very good job. ;)

PS: That's a good idea about the ornaments!

  2. I'm glad I'm not alone, Aimee, planning for my demise. ;-)

    How are you feeling?

  3. After giving 6 kids their own ornament every year for Idon'tknowhowmanyyears (20?), they add up. They each have their own box, and I've actually given up on trying to put theirs on the tree. We just have way too many of them!

  4. Ooh I like that idea! I just have sticker labels on the bottom or back of the ornament with the year and for which child. Now I'll copy you and separate them by owner. Thanks for this. Hope you're well!

  7. I am feeling well, Barbara - thanks for asking! I am already past the half-way mark with the smallest babe and ready for my 20 week ultrasound (which is a couple weeks late now! no time to go without the other kids!) :)
