St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us

.

We all love, love St. Francis, the peacemaker, lover of the poor, the sick, and animals -- a man who lived the Gospel. In fact, one of my very favorite saint quotes was his, "Preach the Gospel at all times. Use words if necessary." I have read that these exact words may not have actually been used by St. Francis, but certainly it was the message he lived by his faith and works. I have many favorite saints, but I do think St. Francis might be my very favorite. My daughter has his name for her middle name, Faith Frances, because I asked for his intercession when she was still in the womb.
