BOTTICELLI, Sandro
Madonna of the Magnificat (Madonna del Magnificat)
1480-81
The final prayer on the rosary, prayed during the Liturgy of the Hours, and during the Traditional Latin Mass, the Salve Regina, or in English, Hail Holy Queen, is a beautiful plea to Our Blessed Mother. As sinners on earth, we beseech Mary, our heavenly intercessor, to share her beautiful son with us for eternity.
St. Josemaria Escriva said, "When we were little, we kept close to our mother in a dark alley or if dogs barked at us. Now, when we feel temptations of the flesh, we should run to the side of our Mother in Heaven, by realizing how she is to us, and by means of aspirations. She will defend us and lead us to the light."
Plea to your beloved mother in heaven to come to your aid: pray the Salve Regina every day.
Hail holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us. And after this our exile show unto us the blessed Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Amen.
O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria. Amen.

That is one prayer that I love to SING! (Well, chant, actually). I learned the Salve Regina in college.
