Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

On the twelfth day of Christmas...

...twelve favorite things.

I'll admit, twelve was stretching my poor feeble mind. I had thought of doing an after-Christmas favorite things, but didn't think I could come up with twelve. But, this morning, I picked up the camera to catch the morning light spread over the winter white backyard and my eye caught so many favorite things, some new gifts, some not. Most are things, but even those things are not just things, they connect me to God, my favorite people, or they bring comfort.

Happy Twelfth Day.

Morning had broken, and the snow was still falling, gently, gently. It's perfect snow -- not cumbersome on the roads, just pretty.

Knitting project, a bolero for Peach, but my favorite thing is really the needles.

A big book on The Vatican that my mother gave me for Christmas. I might have to wait for Peach to graduate high school to really get into it, but I will, eventually.

A dish that Doug bought me for Christmas, to hold my rosaries. It sits on the table next to my spot on the sofa. It has roses in the bottom. And I love that it's an antique.

This one is a twofer. Another favorite is my Divine Intimacy sitting next to the rosary dish. I got away from it for a month or so and I'm so glad to get back to it. If you ever need really uplifting spiritual reading, it's a really good one. Mine is an older copy, but the new ones are just as good.

My favorite girl, still sleepy and warm from bed.

In my favorite thing...warm, flannel jammies.

My Christmas jigsaw puzzle. I have a hard time getting to it, but once I do, I can't pull myself away. Peach loves to help, too. It's nice together time.

My cell phone...only my favorite for the tone I get when college boy texts me. He's been doing it all day long -- he must miss me. ;-)

My new Haflinger clog slippers. I really can't say how much I love them. I really love them. They are so warm. And comfy.

A new sweater from Lands End overstocks. Is there anything better than a really nice sweater from the overstocks page? (o.k., don't answer that) But really, Lands End overstocks are one of my favorite things.

Little bits of Christmas left. We'll take the red bow off and leave the greens for months, so we can save the smell of Christmas.

And with that, I'm taking a little break (probably not twelve days, but you never know). See ya later gator.

  2. the needles look pretty but it looks like you have a whole bunch of stitches on that needle! you must be a tighter (or braver) knitter than me. i dont have any favorite dpns, but addi's are BY FAR my favorite needles. cant wait to see the finished project!

  3. They are so very nice, Jennifer!

There are a lot of stitches on those needles. It was the size I needed and I just had to use them. Hopefully I won't lose any (stitches, that is).

  4. I love your favorite things; I think many of them might be mine, too (if they were mine, that is!). Especially the clogs (yum!) and the knitting needles (dying for some of those!).

I have some little rubber stoppers that you put on needles when you're not knitting; maybe if you have one you can put it on the back end of your dpn.
