...ten completely random things I'm thinking about today.
College boy went back to school today. My heart is heavy wondering if he'll do alright. He needs to improve his grades.
I had not a minute over break to plan our curriculum for winter and spring. Tomorrow and Tuesday are teacher in-service days to do just that.
In March, Noah will be Confirmed. He needs to do a 20-hour service project. Must get to work on that.
In February, Peach will make her First Reconciliation. We have some material to cover and some little projects to do to get ready.
In May, Peach will make her First Holy Communion. I hope to make her dress, but we need to start planning, my girl and I.
I have a procedure (a test of sorts) on Wednesday under general anesthesia. Offer a prayer for me, if you will. I don't like going under anesthesia (as if anyone really likes it), but I don't have a choice on this one.
Maggie has chewed and ruined two pairs of Peach's shoes in two days. We need to go shoe shopping and then find a safe place for Peach to put them.
I also need to shop for some long-sleeve shirts and wool socks for college boy. His apartment was cold when I dropped him off and he only has three long-sleeve shirts and one pair of wool socks to my knowledge. Poor kid. Of course, he's not opposed to wearing his clothes for several days. Ugh.
I'm anxious to get back to cooking low fat and low acid. We really got away from healthy eating (I know, everybody does) and it will be nice to focus on healthy again.
From the Magnificat today: "When the king of heaven was born, the heavens knew that He was God because they immediately sent forth a star; the sea knew Him because it allowed Him to walk upon it; the earth knew Him because it trembled when he died; the sun knew Him because it hid the rays of its light." St. Gregory the Great
(I told you they were completely random.)
Not completely random... you are still on your "days of Christmas" theme!
ReplyDelete:)
But I can completely relate to your random thoughts... it's all I have left these days.
;P
I'm praying for you, Barbara, that the procedure goes well, that your inservice days are fruitful and your shopping excursions provide exactly what your family needs. And as for your heavy heart, I know how you're feeling.
ReplyDeleteBarbara,
ReplyDeleteThis morning at mass, while reading that same passage from Magnificat...I thought I would post it..but never got around to it! Clearly, God wanted that quote from St. Gregory the Great to be posted...one way or another!
Thank you!
As far as service hours go...I've got AT LEAST 20 hours to offer...want to send him to Florida???
Keeping you in prayer.
ReplyDeleteWe have First Reconciliation coming up in a couple of weeks, too! I don't know yet what I'll do for a dress for First Communion. Will she wear KT's (which I've already let her wear since I made it and it fits; I thought she would grow out of it before May because she's taller) or will I make/find another?
ReplyDeleteI'll pray for your procedure to go well. We're having low-key school for a couple of days while I get my act together.
Keeping you in prayer Barbara! Wonderful words from Saint Gregory the Great:~D
ReplyDeleteNutmeg -- at least we still have a thought!
ReplyDeleteMichelle, You lean on me and I'll lean on you. ;-)
Nancy, Could you school him too?
Thanks, Sarah.
Sara, can you add a nice wide piece of lace to the bottom?
Thanks, Lana. Yes, they are!
This pattern is the one I used for my niece (and then my daughter wore it). It's simple and easy. I love the cap sleeves, but I did not do the overskirt because I used material from my sister's wedding dress and it was too pretty to cover up.
ReplyDeleteThe pattern is out of print, but I can send it to you if you like it. Vogue has another pattern available with short sleeves that looks very pretty too.
Hope your procedure went well.
I love the pattern -- I planned to modify a pattern that I used for my goddaughter many years ago (um, she's in college now!), but I love, love those sleeves. Wonder if I can modify? But, I love the square neckline, too. So feminine. What size is your pattern?
ReplyDeleteIt was cut out for a size 8, and it was a little big, so I modified it before final stitching. I'm sure it would fit Peach. I can mail it to you and you can think about it for as long as you like. I have your address.
