Good flicks are so rare these days. It seems they all have foul language and premarital "relationships" and other garbage, that I usually just watch the same movies over and over, or find one that was made before 1950.
At the recommendation of a family friend (a guy friend, no less), however, Doug and I watched "The Note" this week. Based on the book by Angela Hunt, it stars Genie Francis (yes, General Hospital!), and Ted McGinley (yes, Happy Days!) as newspaper colleagues. In a nutshell, he helps her with a story, which ultimately affects her personally, and in the process they reveal their feelings for each other.
The story is faith-based (though not overtly), as the characters discover little miracles that occur throughout the story. It's a Hallmark film, not made by a big blockbuster producer, but it is sweet, and even Doug enjoyed it.
And lest you think a movie can't be romantic without you-know-what, in one scene, near the end of the movie, the two love interests kiss -- very sweetly, not gropingly -- and it is a très romantic scene. I admit that my "kissing life" has improved dramatically since, and it hasn't been my doing (there's an unforeseen bonus!)!
The Note has a sequel, also, and I borrowed it from the library for the weekend. I'm looking forward to some more good clean movie time (and maybe a little kissing!).
I've seen this, it is a good movie. I think I've seen it on the Hallmark channel. I've not seen the sequel, please let us know how that one is!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review. It is very hard to find a good clean movie nowendays.
ReplyDeleteSounds good! I just put it on my Netflix!
ReplyDeleteNice! - and Netflix just reminded me that my queue is empty, how convenient :)
ReplyDeletePS: I hope you get a little more kissing, too ;)
try not to have too much fun this weekend!
ReplyDelete;)
and thanks for the recommendation.
we could all use a little "spice" now and again....
Thanks for the recommendation. I always liked the movie Return To Me for some of the reasons you attached to this movie.
ReplyDeleteWe've been using the ClearPlay DVD to edit our movies and always say after viewing that the movie LOST NOTHING to the editing. Hollywood doesn't have to make movies sleezy!
Watched it today--it was a sweet story. Perhaps not the best thing to watch while I await my husband's PLANE TO LAND from the business trip he is on...but it's what was here, so it's what I watched. Thanks for the recommendation!
