Did you hear? There are only 79 days until Christmas. That means even fewer until St. Nick Day. I'm determined not to pay one penny more than necessary in shipping, which means planning ahead.
I may regret this purchase by, say, January 1, but I did it anyway. What 13-year-old boy can resist?
No, he doesn't read mama's blog.

Ah, Christmas! There's always the soap the Dominicans in NJ make--it's sooo wonderful. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be a small Christmas this year, but I just ordered 2 little books today for Meg.
ReplyDeleteOr 33 yr old husbands!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Now we own it, too. Boys will be pleased. I will be fishing tiny airplanes out of light fixtures.
ReplyDeleteMy youngest would love to have something like that. Thanks for the idea!!!
ReplyDeleteMy dog will shred the planes he leaves behind. I get to pick up a lot of fun, slobbery stuff around here anyway. :)
Yes, Emily,
ReplyDeleteThe Dominicans' soap would be nice, but my kids might not think so. Mama on the other hand...
Sara,
Our Christmas is pretty small -- three gifts each, but we celebrate St. Nick Day with candy and one small gift.
Stina,
They are all little boys!
Suzanne,
I'm thinking I'll be picking them up from everywhere, hence the reason I might be sorry. Fun stuff though.
Sarah,
Yes and fishing them out of a puppy's mouth.
Oh, boy! 79 days?! And St. Nick is even earlier, you are right!! I have had a goal for the past couple years to have my shopping done before Thanksgiving. I usually finish up around the 1st week of Advent (or so =) ... It has helped me enter into Advent and prepare my heart for Christmas in a more mindful way ... But I guess this means I have to start thinking. now. Oh boy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea. That sounds like fun.
ReplyDelete25 days until Halloween
ReplyDelete51 days until Thanksgiving
61 days until St. Nicholas' feast day
I have a countdown calendar: approx 82 days until Bill comes home
Thanks for the gift idea. One of my boys will be getting that!
i already find the big ones everywhere...so why not some cute, tiny, ones...thanks barb! i know 2 boys in particular who will love.love this!
ReplyDeleteoooh, that might be something that needs to join our house. the boy would love it, the girls would have to construct it for him (wonder how long that would last)
