I am doing some major cleaning today and over the weekend (see my 40 Bag Challenge tally on my sidebar). I am getting rid of things as I go and it's amazing how nice everything looks when you start getting rid of the junk. I'm calling my new decorating style Early European Monastery.

Thanks for sharing this. It's timely for what's been happening in my life as well. It's amazing to me how much stuff I thought I *needed.*
ReplyDeleteLOL! Early European monastery - love it! ;)
ReplyDeleteI should try for that around here -- one bed, one chair, and a cross on the wall. Done and done!
Does Early European monastary mean one chair each, one set of utensils each? Just kidding. Tomorrow I am gutting the extra bedroom as it will be used for putting our second pack-out stuff in (when the movers come, what we don't want them packing up and hauling off - for example, our luggage mainly) we would lock up in that room. The first pack out is for essentials we'll need upon arrival of HI (gets shippped 30 days prior to the second pack out) - essentials are linens and clothes. Anyway, I have plenty to either donate or try and sell at a yard/garage sale. I'll probably try selling first, then donate. I hate to throw perfectly good stuff away.
ReplyDeleteI'll be watching your progress and I wish you well.
I just completely emptied our school area, save the stuff we are actually using for...school. It looks great, but I only hid the other stuff in the garage attic. :-)
