Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Track Bikinis?
. What happened to track shorts? Last night I watched pole vaulting in bikinis. I know shorts didn't cover a lot more, but really, this is almost beyond immodest. Pretty soon they'll just be naked.
I saw the volley ball pics and was disappointed by the attire. I mean, really. Is that necessary? Wouldn't some snuggish shirts and shorts do the job just as well without us being exposed to so much? One more reason I'm not actually watching the olympics. :-)
Amen! I say bring on some Lycra shorts and be done with it. I don't see how that can be more annoying than a bikini bottom that is always riding up. The Olympic swimmers wear more than the Olympians on dry land :)
I was horrified when watching the women's 100m hurdles... One more sport I can't let my boys watch... *groan*. We've banned the women's beach volleyball altogether. And you know what? the men's beach volleyball players are in totally modest LONG shorts and LOOSE-fitting tanks.
And they do just fine.
So, I ask you, what IS their aim with these fashions? (Rhetorical question...)
They did compete naked in the original olympics...but then it was a men only event for both participants and sectators too.
Yeah, the beach volleyball should just place a ban on white bikinis...cause it's quite common for high beams to be showing. I don't really mind the darker, less revealing colors as much though. The cut on the rear is just a tad too narrow for my liking...but I can see why they're more comfortable in a sports bikini suit.
I ran track, and those dolphin shorts were horrible. The coach told us that biker shorts were too restricting of our legs...so he prefered we not put those on under our dolphins and if we wanted we could get longer, baggy sport shorts to wear instead. Most of the girls did that.
But I must confess, I'm not at all shocked by the ladies running around in their sports bras...we used to practice like that all the time when I was in high school...funny how I would feel more subconscious about it now...but back then, it was just too hot and you ran in what was comfortable.
Volleyball does the same thing!! Why? We went to a neighbor girls volleyball game last year and I was shocked at the attire. These are teens!!!
ReplyDeleteI hate to say it...but the original Olympians *were often* naked to perform their atheletic feats publically. Yep.
ReplyDeleteDenise beat me to it but yes, it seems we are returning to our original Greek roots.
ReplyDeleteExcept that I'm NOT Greek, I'm French.
(And the fashions over there aren't any better.)
