Doug is sad. He noticed that today is the first school day, in 13 years, that he is not driving his oldest son to school. Except for snow days and sick days, he drove him to school every single morning for 13 years of Catholic school. No car pools, no shared rides -- father and son every single morning for 13 years.
And the reason he didn't head off to school this morning is because, tonight he graduates. And I think it's going to be a leaky day. Tears of joy mixed with tears of sadness. How could it possibly be time already?
- I raise my eyes toward the mountains. From where will my help come?
- My help comes from the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth.
- God will not allow your foot to slip; your guardian does not sleep.
- Truly, the guardian of Israel never slumbers nor sleeps.
- The LORD is your guardian; the LORD is your shade at your righthand.
- By day the sun cannot harm you, nor the moon by night.
- The LORD will guard you from all evil, will always guard your life.
- The LORD will guard your coming and going both now and forever. -- Psalm 121
