Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Buy Zyrtec?

.

We are a household full of allergies and eczema, and one of our main medications, Zyrtec, recently went over-the-counter. Sometimes that's a good thing -- it means I don't have to plan so far ahead for mail order refills, and sometimes the price goes down. This time, however, it's been a bad thing. Not only did the price go up (from what we were previously paying as an insurance co-pay), but I can't find it in stock around here. That either means that supply went down, or demand went up, and either way that means the price will not be going down any time soon. Bummer.

On a whim last week, I checked Amazon.com to see if they carried it (what don't they have these days?), and they do. And not only do they have it in stock, but it's much less expensive than even the lowest price locally. I have been able to find a 30-count bottle of 10 mg Zyrtec for as low as $17.99 at my discount grocer (of course, they didn't have any in stock). The big red box store has it (when it's in stock) for $18.99. The drug stores are much pricier. But, Amazon sells the same package for $11.99. Even with shipping, I saved $8 on a two months supply (and I didn't have to drive anywhere). The savings would be even greater for a three-month supply. But, more importantly, I actually have some in my possession now, and my allergy-sufferers are feeling much better.

If anyone out there knows of a generic that's made in the U.S., please leave me a comment, would you? Thanks!

  1. Barbara, I don't use that one but I do use the Claritin generic when my allergies are bad. (Loratadine)

  2. This is great news! We take more allergy medicine in our house than I care to think about. I'll be sure to check this out!

  4. Barbara, check Amazon to see if you can *subscribe* ordering the medication. If you can you'll save an additional 15% as well as have the medication automatically delivered every 1, 3 or 6 months.
