Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Senior Boy

Anthony went last week to have his picture taken for the Senior composite at school. The boys can have casual pictures taken for fun, but the composite picture needs to be a coat and tie shot.

We weren't all that thrilled with his casual pictures, although they were taken on the school's campus, so we have some nice shots in front of the Grotto and by the Risen Lord, which I love. But, I received the proofs for his coat and tie shot in the mail yesterday, and they are really good. This is my boy.

He doesn't like them, with the exception of the upper left one, but Doug and I agree that these really look like him. I think he looks sweet and mature at the same time.

It breaks my heart to think he's grown. I ache to have this little boy as his four-year-old self again.

Can you see this little boy in that grown man?

  1. What a handsome young man!

I'm watching the same transformation take place in my 14 yr. old son, Zachary. It is bittersweet...I want to meet "the man", but I miss the tossle-headed blondie that used to snuggle on my lap.

BTW: I have a little "award" for you over at my "place"!

  2. He is very handsome Barbara! How's the college planning going?

I thought I was having a hard time with Ciara turning two in a couple of weeks, but eighteen is another story!

  3. Thank you Kimberly and Deborah. I think so too, but I am partial.

Deborah, he's waiting to hear from his first choice, our very own Ohio State University. When his dad and I attended, you didn't have to be all that bright. Now, the university is very selective. But I have a feeling...

  4. Barbara,

You have raised a wonderful young man. He is certainly is handsome.

Good luck with college hunting. My daughter is just a sophomore but my husband is already looking.

Whatever college is right for him, he will take a firm foundation of his Catholic faith instilled in him with love from his family. He then can be a fine witness of our faith to the rest of the world.

  5. Wonderful photos - your son is a handsome young man...the little boy pic is cute too...Much luck and prayers with college preparation. :)

  6. He's not even mine and I'm getting all choked up at the pictures...I can only imagine. My oldest won't even start High School for another year, but I know that it won't take long before he too will be taking those same pictures.

    Thanks for sharing,

  7. Very nice photos! Just as handsome as they come...you must be very proud, even more than his appearance you must be very proud of his person.

With my oldest coming to 11 (and that matching pre-teen attitude) I can only sigh and wonder where the time has gone...and turn him over to God and pray he follows the right paths.

God Bless you all in this college bonanza! Wating is always the hardest to do: but ehy, it builds the virtue of patience!

    God Bless,

  8. Sheesh, it's hard to imagine my 3yo that big someday. :) The photos look great, I think the bottom left is the best. :)

I appreciate your comments -- sometimes I feel like I'm talking to myself!
