Well, back to work and school today. It's a good thing. I was starting to see some undesirable behavior (sniping) among the boys that comes from too much spare time. They could have gone back before the 1st, but, I guess I wouldn't be too popular among teachers saying that. That's one of the problems with being a mixed school family (part home/part school) -- scheduling our homeschool around the school schedule. I know I don't have to, but you can imagine how happy the homeschool kids would be to sit and school while their siblings are still having vacation.
Unfortunately, we are one family of millions going back to work and school with colds. Doug kept me up half the night blowing and tossing. When we went to bed last night we passed the Vick's Puffs back and forth and rubbed VapoRub all over -- it smelled like a sick room. Michael and I have had back-to-back colds -- first last week, now this week.
Since we've been to church four times in the past twelve days, I'm fairly certain that's where we got them. No offense to my fellow Catholics, but if you're sick, stay home from church. I can't tell you how many people in Mass the past few weeks were blowing and coughing. I get really wigged out being trapped in church in front of someone who's sneezing and coughing behind me. I feel really badly for pregnant women and, especially older people who could end up with pneumonia from a common cold. It's o.k. to miss Mass when you're sick. Really. And a cold is sick.
On another note, the Tooth Fairy came last night. Peach lost her 6th tooth. That girl is the toothless wonder.
Have a good Thursday, friend -- two more days until the weekend again. I could deal with two day weeks more often.
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam. To the greater glory of God.
Boy that little sprite sure does get around. She made a pit-stop for Shortcake last night who surprised everyone by pulling her own tooth yesterday! She was a little traumatized, but mostly brave!
ReplyDeleteGosh I didn't realise they lost teeth so young! Time flies! ;-) Sorry you guys are feeling lousy - hope it starts to improve soon!
ReplyDeleteDeborah,
ReplyDeleteI don't think my boys lost six teeth by age 5. Faith didn't get them early either. Maybe she's doing lots of wiggling just for the cash!
If it's any comfort (and I hope it is), I'm suffering right along with you--both from the sniffle snorts and the snippy snaps of children who have too much time on their hands!
ReplyDeleteLet's hang in there together, okay?
PS. I like your blog's new look!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Margaret!
