Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Go Bucks!

Well, we've all had our first round of tailgate party munchies and are sitting around the television waiting for kickoff. The kids are celebrating now, hopefully they'll also be celebrating later. It's so long to wait between the last game (late November) and the bowl game. Who knows what will happen. And honestly, can anyone say it's a fair game being played in New Orleans?

Peach kept me busy today. I had big plans to camp out on the sofa all day, leaving only to move the laundry and make more hot tea.

But, around 11 a.m., Peach, feeling much better after her illness last night, ran, cheek first, into a door frame. She was racing through the living room, dining room and into the kitchen, with the dog trailing her, when she looked back to see if the dog was keeping up. Wham! Right into the door frame, cheek first. She screamed for 20 minutes, then collapsed on the sofa and fell asleep. She briefly woke up to tell me that she thought she had to vomit. Convinced she had both a broken cheekbone and a concussion, I waited until the doctor's office came back from lunch and took her in. Fortunately by 2 p.m. we (the doctor and I) were convinced she did not have either a concussion or a broken cheekbone and we came home.

She's pictured above with her bright red cheek -- it should be nice and purple by tomorrow and likely a lovely shade of green by Sunday.

I guess it's all in a day's work and we'll start all over again tomorrow with a new game plan. Hopefully we'll end up with no injuries and a big win.

Go Bucks!

  3. Can't comment on the football, except to say I went to Northwestern. I don't think we liked Ohio! ;-)

Poor Faith and poor you - sounds like that's the last thing you needed! Hope you're all on the mend!

  5. ME again (twintu)! Wow, well, it just went downhill from my last post...so so very sad. As dh Chuck "offered" (in a loud voice), many times to Boeckman, "Get outta the pcket man! Get out of the pocket! You've gotta learn to scramble!" And what about those penalities? And that missed TD pass? And roughing the kicker? And, wow a lot went not so well. BUT the Buckeye spirit goes on, because Woody is looking down AND

you know what?! They have a lot of returning players next year. And we can bet that the Bucks will be back in the championships again. Third time's a charm!

Still wearing the crimson red proudly (although a bit sadly) today!

    God Bless the Bucks,
    Tracy

  7. Yes, Tracy. It went downhill fast didn't it?

They did not look like our Bucks. All those personal fouls are not the Buckeye way. I felt badly that they performed in such a manner in the championship game. I really believe their downfall is the timespan between the Michigan game and the championship game (and of course, LSU's home team advantage didn't help). Just too much time. And by all rights they really should not have been there last night. I don't think anyone, at the beginning of the season, anticipated it. I think it shows how poor the Big Ten as a whole performed this year if Ohio State was able to stay on top.

  8. sorry...I just couldn't help myself...:) My husband did enjoy the game immensely and as soon as it ended the fireworks noise throughout our neighborhood (not from our house) sounded almost like New Years. People around these parts are CRAZY for LSU.

  9. Deborah, if you went to NW you should be cheering the Bucks since in bowl games you always go for your conference. We even go for Michigan in bowl games (sometimes its a little hard to do, but this yr with them against Florida it was pretty easy).
The problem is next yr if the other nat'l championship team is an SEC team, and it is another crazy season we will have a hard time getting voted in. Of course if we beat USC at USC they can't use the cupcake schedule argument.
At least we won't also be tortured by having to watch them lose the nat'l title game in bball this yr.
    Oh well, GO BUCKS
