Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

More on Football

My girl just couldn't leave well enough alone. She wants to get to the bottom of this mystery we call football. Another question last night. All clean from her bath, and snuggled on her daddy's lap, head resting on his shoulder, I heard this little voice from across the room, "Daddy, why do you yell at the football man?"

Honey, if you figure that out, we'll give you the Nobel Peace Prize.

  1. I love the sound of the collective "AWWWWWW!" or "YES!" coming from the den on a Monday Night.

  2. Sadly, the sound coming from in front of our television is usually more along the lines of, "What are you doing?" loud enough for the neighbors to hear!

I always say, "Hey -- he's somebody's son!" I can't bear to think of millions of televisons viewers yelling at my own through the tv screen.

  3. Better to yell at the TV than kick the dog!

I confess I yell too. Ohio teams inspire this reaction.

  4. Well, they certainly inspire my husband to yell! :o)

I'm more of an "Awww, poor guy" (especially when the kicker misses) fan. Especially with college ball -- I just can't get past that those boys could be my kids.

  5. What a darling picture! That one's a keeper even if it does involve football. And I'm with your little one...I have walked into many a room to ponder the one-sided conversation between man and TV. It must be a guy thing?
