In three days we have a grad party and in 15 days a wedding. Lord, just get me to June 21.
I'm wondering which has you more drained, the wedding or the dance recitals. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are in my prayers!
Beth
The dance recital landed right on top of commencement, so my aunt and uncle came from Cincinnati to get to and from her first recital while we went to commencement. That was stressful! I had been worrying about it for so long. Then I worked at the last recital as a stage mom and the running around wrecked my back (I've been limping for weeks because of something I tore in my knee).
DeleteBut sewing the dresses and the veil really consumed a lot of hours, so I guess it's a combination of everything!
15 days for the wedding!? I did not realize it was so close! Take time for yourself, for swimming, or whatever. You need to recharge and stay focused (by taking care of yourself!) for the next couple of weeks. It will be so exciting; I can't wait to hear about it.
ReplyDeleteAfter the party this weekend I'm looking forward to recharging and resting. As I mentioned in the above comment I tore some connective tissue in my right knee. The orthopedist drew off a couple huge syringes of blood and sent me for an MRI. No surgery now, but I've been limping for weeks, and that made my SI joints sore. My body is a wreck!

DeleteThose are some pretty big monumental moments you have going on there. Lots of work for mama too. I hope you get the chance to put your feet up once in a while in the midst of the flurry of activities. Good luck! Blessings to you in the coming weeks!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sarah. As much as I am so happy for my son, weddings are a lot of work. I don't think any one who hasn't done it as a parent understands. A lot of work and worry! I've been to three bridal showers, and now that all the dresses are done and the veil is finished, I can breathe...and wait! (And pray that the Mass goes as we planned)
DeleteCongratulations to your son on his graduation! And Faith looks so cute in her dance costumes! I bet she did great! Yes, please take care of you! Only do the bare minimum; the rest can wait until July! And ENJOY! These are such special moments in a family's life together! I will be praying for all of you!
ReplyDeleteP.S. And thank you for coming over to my new space ... I am grateful that you found me!
Thank you, Sarah. And Faith did a great job on her recital. She just started tap (top dancing photo) last summer and she was the star of that piece (a slight addition of some drama to the choreography).
DeleteYou can bet you're in my prayers, dear friend, especially the ones that I offer before the Blessed Sacrament. I know you know He's got this, but it helps to be reminded!
ReplyDeleteHe's got this.
Meanwhile, your photos are awesome and (I have to say) I LOVE the one with the cigars. Priceless.
Love YOU too! Hang in there!!
That photo is very manly, isn't it? They had fun and I don't think anyone inhaled (which apparently makes you sick -- at least when you're an amateur).
DeleteThanks for the prayers. Much, much needed.
Boy oh boy have I been thinking about you!! Congratulations to the graduate, and I can HARDLY wait to see the finished masterpieces you have created!!! (Just remember to breathe!)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Patty, for your thoughts. The veil is finished, been steamed and ready to deliver to the mother of the bride on Saturday. I just have a few alterations on the flower girl's dress and the rehearsal dinner to finalize. I have a feeling it will be over before I know it. At least I hope because my stress level can't get much higher.
DeleteContinued prayers for you, Barbara! Congrats to the new graduate, little miss dancer, the soon to be wed, and for you...for sewing all those dresses. I've been praying for you and groaning with you! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cheryl. Prayers still needed -- to get through the Mass!
DeleteYou need a good pampering after this wedding! Congratulations to Noah! Praying you all the way to wedding day then we'll plan a catch up playdate.
ReplyDeleteKeep on praying -- and I bought the mascara. Good stuff!
DeletePrayers for you mama and big ((((hugs)))!! Wish I could deliver the hugs in person!
ReplyDeleteFun to see what's up in your life now though!
Much love to you!
I wish you could deliver the hug in person, too, Jamie. That's what I need!
DeleteCongratulations to all of you! So many big moments! So sorry to hear about your knee and Please slow down and rest some so you can peacefully prepare for the wedding! It will be wonderful, no matter what. Hope your knee is better soon (and Deo Gratias on the no surgery).
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kimberlee. I'm trying to slow down, but for some reason have to keep speeding up to stay with the pack! Just a little over one more week is all I need. Then I can collapse!
DeleteI'm not a good candidate for knee surgery because of my great ability to clot, so let's hope no knee surgery for a long time!
Congratulations--and I agree with comments above. After the wedding, there needs to be some big-time pampering of mama! :) My prayers are with all of you, with a special mention to Our Lady of Perpetual Help on your behalf.
ReplyDeleteI think all you girls need to come and have a big pampering party with me! And thank you for the prayers -- Our Lady of Perpetual Help is one of my favorites.
DeleteI am breathless at all that has been going on with you and your family Barbara...plus the wedding! Are you still standing? I know God must be sustaining you in these very busy days. Love seeing the pictures!
