Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Yarning Along...one sock, two socks, red sock, blue sock

Green Socks!

I'm joining Ginny this week to show you the progress I've made on my socks. Not much, it seems, but there's a lot of knitting there, I guarantee.

I am knitting two at the same time, for those of you who have not seen this project yet. I love this knitting two at the same time, for the obvious reason (when you finish one sock you don't have to start over again), but I do spend a lot of time untangling the two strings of yarn.

The sock pattern is the diagonal lace in Socks from the Toe Up by Wendy Johnson (click on the pattern name -- look you don't even have to buy the book) and the yarn is KnitPicks Stroll Fingering in Peapod. I already mentioned in a previous post, that it has a really nice feel and should make nice warm socks, but it splits a lot. The needles are new nickel-plated needles which I do like more than I thought I would. They're a little slippery on the yarn, but I like how they feel in my fingers.

My book is Thyroid Power: 10 Steps to Total Health. So far the author has just tried to convince me that I have thyroid issues, which I already know. I may have to skip ahead to see if there is anything worth the $0.01 plus $3.99 shipping I spent to get it used from Amazon.

  2. What a lovely lace pattern. I'm getting closer to finishing my shawl, but towards the end the progress slows down because of how you're adding stitches with every row. As soon as I'm done I think I will start some toe-up socks. I'm not sure I'll try two at a time, though. At least not yet. One new skill at a time is my speed. ;)

I've been so impressed with your progress.

  3. Beautiful socks! I love that color. I might even get to join the Yarn Along again this Wednesday. I've finally started stitching again.
