Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Daybook

Outside my window...

...cold, gray, and rainy. Glad I'm indoors.

I am thinking...

...about a week shortened by a school holiday, and how many projects I might get started and finished.

I am also thinking about finding my oldest an apartment somewhere I'd like him to live on campus. Or at least a happy compromise.

I am thankful for....

...clean surfaces, at least in most of the rooms

...hot, (strong) black coffee, always

From the lesson plans...

...maybe a day away from the house this week, but with books. The library is too noisy (isn't that insane?) and it's hard to focus at a coffee shop. I need to make certain, however, that the four walls don't close in on the two of us girls.

From the kitchen...

...Best Beef Enchiladas for dinner. We had Jets deep dish pizza  -- yea for holidays! (oh my gosh, I love their crust!)

I am wearing...

...grey velour slacks and a French blue turtleneck, Haflinger wool clogs and my "chains" (not a bit of makeup)

I am creating...

...I am a little over half through with this sweater vest in pink for Faith. I am midway through a pink First Holy Communion rosary, and have a purple one to start. I have another rosary to work on for Doug's aunt. I also have a skirt to sew, a jumper to sew, and two baby quilts. No shortage of projects.

I am reading...

...The American Frugal Housewife, and Knitting Rules! is on deck.

I am hoping...

...for a quiet, peaceful and productive January

I am hearing...

...Faith is making a cup of tea. She has become quite the tea drinker lately.

Around the house...

...Christmas decorations down (check)

...bedrooms tidied up (check, but not perfect)

...laundry done (and most of the ironing, check, check)

I am going...

...no appointments this week, yeh for me! (except holy hour on Friday for the unborn)

One of my favorite things...

...free days

I am praying for...

...my children, and my husband.

...two soldiers just deployed, both to Afghanistan

...our priests and all religious

...all of the babies whose mothers are contemplating abortion this week

Plans for the rest of the week...
...school and home -- my vocation

...as many projects as I can possibly finish

A picture thought...

feeding the blue jays barefoot early last week...and then it snowed

  1. You know we've had good luck on our mornings out at either Chik fil-a or the bakery. Starbucks is definitely noisier, except for the one that is in Target. That one is just COLD! We only do it for a couple of hours and there's food, sometimes a playground. We get a lot more done out of the house!
