Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

27/52

.

52 weeks of daily life in pictures: trials and celebrations,
the extraordinary and mundane --
whatever is unique to the week.
Join me if you like.

Our week started on Friday with the city's fireworks display. The hospital foundation sponsors a big party for donors and we have to love to go (since it's Doug's office and he has to meet donors). Faith loves this party because it's very kid-friendly. She went and got her face painted (without permission!) and I was a little bit shocked when she came back to our table. She asked to look like a kitty, but I think she looks maybe like an hooker circus kitty.

We had a really busy holiday weekend and my only excuse for not getting pictures is...I was cooking! I tried to get better about remembering my camera this week, but I failed again! Not one picture of the kids setting off fireworks. ugh
And those photos I did take seem to be out of focus. Something is up with my camera.

Doug and Faith -- Doug was grilling pork tenderloins on Sunday night.

My mom, enjoying a glass of Gewürztraminer.

The dessert table on Sunday. After I took the picture my mom brought two big platters of Apple Dumplings. Yum!

A daily serving of fruit -- strawberry margarita.

Faith has been sick this week -- a sore throat and low fever.
Day 1

Working on more baby quilts -- for twin girls expected next door!

Faith and I watched this version of Heidi -- what a sweet movie, and a great way to spend a "sick" afternoon.  (note: there is a "startling" scene at the beginning of the movie that explains the death of Heidi's parents; not appropriate for really young children; after that scene the movie is perfect for all ages)

Day 2. We shall see if there is a Day 3

Some homemade peach ice cream always feels better on a sore throat. You'll find my recipe on my food blog...soon!

Below you'll find a linky list for the lovely women who have decided to join me in my 52 Weeks project. There are no rules (except the two below) -- if you want to start your 52 Weeks this week, go for it! I will keep the links up until next Friday, so you have a week to do it.

(1) Make sure you copy and paste the URL of your 52 Weeks blog post ( and not your main blog URL). You could also use of Flickr photo page if that's how you do things.
(2) Include a link back here in your blog post or flickr photo page.

  2. I have a sicky girl too (low grade fever and headache). I hope yours is feeling better soon! Peach ice cream sounds like it would make me feel worse... just so I could have some more peach ice cream! :)

  4. You take me away in your wonderful photographs! Will you please pray that I find my special Rosary, hand-made by my daughter and sent to Italy where it received a blessing from our dear Pope? I am frantic! It means so much to me.

Thanks and know that I enjoy your site!

  6. Hope yours is better soon, too, Charlotte. Faith still has a sore throat today but she looks peppier. I think there's about one serving of ice cream left this morning and I'll surely save it for her!
