Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Daybook...started early, finished late

Outside my window...

...a cloudless sky, moderate temps, perfect spring day. Enjoy it while it lasts I say. Get outside...scoot, scoot.

I am thinking...

...about graduation and a graduation party. Invitations arrived today and back they go in the mail. May is flying by.

I am thankful for...

...chocolates for Mother's day.

...a husband ready and able to do a bathroom renovation (even if I'm not the one who wanted it).

...the great, green outdoors. Oh my, everything is so lush and green after all the rain.

From the lesson plans...

...winging it still because we push harder with less planning. We are finished with some subjects and pushing forward in others. Faith, I've decided is going to be an all-year math student, and maybe phonics, too. After this month it will just be Faith and I at home, and I feel more free to do whatever I want, mostly because she is generally pretty agreeable and I won't have to fight about it.

From the kitchen...

...breakfast for dinner, complete with monkey bread (Mmmmm).

I am wearing...

...khaki trousers, a light blue and white blouse, and black slip-on loafers. No make-up, no jewelry.

I am creating...

...hot pads for my mother.

...a pair of wedding rosaries -- I'm thrilled with all the components; can't wait to see it all put together.

I am reading...

...He Leadeth Me.  I had put it down and forgotten about it, and now I picked it back up. Very inspiring.

I am hoping...

...for a quiet and productive week. Again. Am I boring?

I am hearing...

...the boys talking about school. It's always interesting what you hear when they think you are occupied with something.

Around the house...

...quite a bit of clutter. Still. Until the bathroom is done, I think this is status quo.

I am going...

...no place really. I have to schedule an appointment with the dentist to have a crown put on the tooth that had the root canal, probably in the next week.

One of my favorite things...

...plans -- I almost have a menu for the graduation party.

...a new bathroom -- we are putting in a lot of tile and I love the clean look.

...Jamie's Wicked Kebobs (last night for dinner).

...Nigella's Chocolate Cheesecake (recipe to come -- also last night, for dessert).

...breakfast for dinner.

I am praying for...

...my children and my husband

...my niece Rachel. Her in-hospital radiation therapy is Thursday.

...Doug's Uncle Walt who started chemo for bladder and kidney cancer.

...my priests

...several soldiers

...all of the babies whose mothers are contemplating abortion this week.

A few plans for the rest of the week...

...finishing up on some things and starting new on others.

A picture thought...

a new Kitchen Madonna for Mother's Day.

  1. I love your new Kitchen Madonna. I got one a few months ago. I love mine! She is such a good inspiration.

  2. She's in the center of the kitchen table, Sarah, and tonight while I was making a rosary I caught myself saying "Hi, Mary" -- out loud! I felt silly, but then it felt good. ;-)
