Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

52 Weeks

.
Kim at Starry Sky Ranch has inspired me (she inspires me often, but in particular today). We are such a visual society, and by and large that's a good thing. God has given us sight, and he has given us many, many beautiful things at which to look. As St. Ambrose says in today's Divine Intimacy, "He who has been circumcised of every vice will be judged worthy of the Lord's attention." If we are particular about that which we turn our eyes toward, we find that many sights are Godly -- even in boring, old, daily life.

Kim suggests documenting daily life, and I'm inclined to do just that, one week at a time. I'm going to give it a go -- 52 weeks of daily life: trials and celebrations, the extraordinary and mundane. Hopefully I won't get to the point of photographing the dirty laundry -- pinch me if I do -- but if the mundane is what is unique to the week, then so be it. I am hoping this little project will help me appreciate what is unique about the present moment.

Join me if you're so inclined -- we'll document life together.

  2. Sounds like a really neat idea. I will wait in anticipation to see how it plays out (oh and if I get a chance I might try some around here, but no promises as of yet :)

  3. Love this idea. Thanks for sharing the inspiration. I have enjoyed keeping an Adoration Journal each week and looking back over it when I feel like I haven't accomplished anything, spiritually. I never cease to be amazed at how Our Lord reveals HIM self, despite MY self. New Years Blessings and Ave Maria!

  4. I'm so glad you'll join me, Cheryl. Looking forward to it.

Even a little is better than none, Mary Elizabeth. I'm not a strict self-imposed rule follower! ;-)

I hope to see some pics of your daily life, Tiffany.

  5. mid way through the year I started doing a "wrapping up the week" post. I do school stuff as well as just life stuff as they are so often completely intertwined. Even when it seems that not much is accomplished, when I look over a few weeks or a month, we have accomplished a good bit and had some fun times :)
