Good/Bad Friday
.
Good: True Devotion to Mary -- I enjoyed my first class this week. Also good is that by the end of the day on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception I will have consecrated myself to Jesus through Mary. Good, good, good. All good.
Bad: Faith says, "Brothers!" One in particular has been pestering her unmercifully. I'm ready to send him to boarding school in Europe. Or Russia. Or China. Or Antarctica.
Good: a repaired dishwasher. Yeah!
Bad: emptying the dishwasher -- I'm never happy am I? (one good thing about washing dishes is they don't build up and sit in the dishwasher)
Good: October sunlight. I love how the light changes in the fall. I get migraines from bright light, so sometimes summer is hard for me. I have to be really careful. The sunlight in the fall is bright, but not glaring. It's a lovely "in between" summer's glare and winter's dull light.
Bad: Laundry, laundry, laundry that never gets completely done
Good: Blessed Mother Teresa rosary, her blue and white represented in beads, a relic center
Good: a stay-at-home day on Thursday and staying in my jammies all day long
Bad: staying in my jammies all day (I did shower at 5:30 p.m. and put clothes on before my husband came home -- no sense in rubbing his nose in it)
Good: My daughter who loves to rearrange and has finally learned that whatever she rearranges should also be clean. And she cleans it!
Bad: Every time I turn around my daughter has rearranged something. I can't even really rely on the lamps being in the same place every day. It's somewhat disconcerting and often really annoying.
Good: Starting the weekend with Friday morning Mass
Bad: leaves, leaves, leaves everywhere
Good: the last Friday Night Football Girls' Night (unless our team wins and then there will be next week)
Good: Going on a road trip with my college boy, just the two of us
I pray this weekend that you have mostly good. Get outdoors and smell the autumn earth; breathe in life. Thank God for all that is good (and even a little bad).
Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? 1 Cor 3:16

We have a book called "Fortunately"
ReplyDeleteand all through the book, every other page is Fortunately.... and then the next page is Unfortunately....
It's one of my favorites! Your good/bad Fridays remind me of that book!!
Anyway, I love your "spots" They are similar to mine at home. I love being by windows!!
Your drapes are lovely.
Have a wonderful weekend!
That's a stunning rosary!
ReplyDeleteHave Faith come over here and rearrange and clean Meg's room to her heart's content. It's a disaster and it makes me crazy. every. single. day.
Barb - do you assign chores to your children? As I too greatly disliked empyting the dishwaher I assigned it to them.
ReplyDelete#2 son does the top, #1 son does the bottom and #3 son does the silverware. Takes them all of 5 minutes each and is a good chore after school reminding them we are a family team.
Love your All Souls pic too!

I did the rearrange thing when I was a teen too. What was the fun in cleaning your room, if it was just going to be the same? lol
