My son Geoffrey called me a little while ago while he was walking to work. The Ohio State vs Purdue game had just ended and the sidewalks and streets were beginning to fill with jubilant fans. Horns honked and I could hear people yelling to each other on the sidewalks. One particular person yelled very close to where my son was walking and what he said prompted Geoff to laugh out loud. I said to him, "What was that all about?" and he said some guy in a taxi had just gone by and yelled out the window to him, "Tell your mother I love her!" He said there was no one else near him so he had to have been yelling at him, even though he had no idea who he was. He said, "That was pretty good timing since I just happen to be talking to my mother."
All I can say is, it's nice to be loved, even if it's by some nut who doesn't know you.

Reminds me of the time I was saying a novena to St. Theresa. My son went to a prom on the eighth day of my prayer (with his now wife). The next morning his flower that she gave him sat withered on the kitchen counter. As he passed through he tossed it at me and said,"Here Mom , you want this?". I had a laugh at how St. Theresa sends her shower to mothers of teenage boys.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my scarf. I just wanted to pop over here and check out your knitting. I love your rosary's so I am sure your knitting is divine. It looks like you have some knitter's blog over in your blog corner. I am going to check them out too. I saw this knitter's magazine at the store the other day and I saw the coolest stuff people knit..like purses..and pillows, and toys. My, my..what fun that would be.
