Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Eating dirt

No time for Quick Takes today. The kids are dragging me to the water park. I'd rather eat dirt. Truly.

Off we go. Have a beautiful weekend (and stay away from water parks).

  1. The worst migraine I ever had was at a waterpark, while desperately trying to find shade and water (to drink).

Best wishes for a safe day.

  2. Have fun! I wish I were there with you, soaking up the sun and talking. And doing anything but driving.

  3. I would rather eat dirt, too.
I'd take my kids . . . I'd bring a book, 'cos I'm not getting in the water . . . but I wouldn't be able to read 'cos I'd be watching to see if they get injured or start drowning or something awful . . . my intestines from that anxiety . . . I can't relax at the beach for the same reason.

  4. Oh, Janet,
I can't even imagine. You poor thing.

It would have been much more tolerable with you.

Glad to know I'm not alone, Sarah.

  5. I refer to places like that as "Purgatory."
This also includes the "FunPlex" with its bounce areas, gokarts, mini golf, rubber climbing room, arcade and laser tag; Chuck E. Cheese (there's a special place in Hell for the guy who invented that!), the all-moon-bounce-all-the-time party place and others of that stripe.

I appreciate your comments -- sometimes I feel like I'm talking to myself!
