Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Garage Sale Giveaway

.
Today was our annual neighborhood garage sale. Each year I decide I'll pass on the "opportunity," save myself the work, hide in my house, avoid the people. But each year my kids beg me to do it -- mostly because they want to drag out some personal junk in hopes of making millions (HA!) and they like to sell hot dogs and sodas and make a few bucks.

This year as I was dragging my "junk" from the basement storage, I found some books that I just knew I couldn't put out on the sale table. They are books that I enjoyed and am finished with, and would like to put into the hands of others who would also enjoy them. I just happen to know that they are not simpatico with my garage sale crowd. So, my garage sale...your gain.

If you are interested in one or more of the titles, leave your name and contact in the comment box. If you already own one, or are not interested in one, just say "don't put me in the drawing for No. ___)." I'll draw a name for each book on Wednesday, June 9.

1. Please Don't Drink the Holy Water by Susie Lloyd

2. Beyond the Birds and the Bees by Gregory Popcak

3. 201 Inspirational Stories of the Eucharist by Sister Patricia Proctor

4. Our Pilgrimage with Magnificat

5. Holidays and Holy Days by Susan Richardson

6. The New Dare to Discipline by James Dobson

7. Pure Heart Clear Conscience by James Keating

8. Praying with St. Paul

9. A Mother's Rule of Life by Holly Pierlot

Editor's Note: No, I can not count, but, fortunately, I can edit. ;-)

  1. Oooh, fun! I would love to throw my name in the hat for the Keating book (Pure Heart Pure Conscience). Most of the others I either own or have read before. Thanks!

  2. Great! Any would be great except #1 and #6a (Dobson). ;)

  3. I'd be interested in the Magnificat Pilgrimmage. This is such a good idea---I'd rather give my books away to a loving home than just sell them to strangers. It's probably the same feeling that makes me "rescue" great Catholic books or statues from yard sales! Lol.

I'm going to have to look through my books, now.

  4. I would love any of them. I have some little kids Mass books that I've been trying to decide what to do with. I can't stand to just give them away to just anyone, and yet they are far too young for my own kids. Maybe I should save them for my grandchildren. :)
