Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Those Witchy Relative Pronouns

.

Coming home from picking up high school boy today, Peach noticed a girl on a bike in our neighborhood. Who's on first?

Peach: "There's a girl which I don't know."

Me: "No, there's a girl who I don't know."

Peach: "What?"

Josh: "You used the wrong relative pronoun."

Me: "We say who for people, not which."

Peach: "I never said she was a witch."

PS Smarty pants Sara already corrected my grammar. I call "no piling on."

  2. Nice try, but it's "whom". The objective case. :-)

  3. OTOH, I still can't remember what a relative pronoun is.

  4. The only reason I may notice a word not used correctly is if it doesn't sound or look right. I never could remember the rules - even when home schooling my kids. Seton English - we all HATED their courses.

  5. Thanks, Nancy. I'm excited.

Got me, Sara. But who is better than which. We'll work on cases after first grade!

Sarah, I'm afraid Seton English is the only reason we know those are relative pronouns (and I'm not embarrassed to say I loved Seton English). Clearly I wouldn't earn an "A" though from my mistake in correcting Peach.
