Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Prayers for the Bishop

.

A prayer request for Bishop Frederick Campbell, bishop of our diocese in Columbus, who will have his left leg amputated below the knee because of skin cancer.

Compassionate St. Anthony, you are called the "Miracle Worker" by those who have been blessed by your special friendship. I ask you to look with favor on Bishop Campbell who is weak and failing.

Great St. Anthony, come to the assistance of Bishop Campbell. Obtain for him health in mind and body, and the strength to accept all suffering in union with Christ, our Savior.

Loving St. Anthony, console all those who are afflicted, and guide them to the heart of the Divine Physician, where they will obtain compassion, mercy and hope. Amen.

  4. Prayers being said! I have a three inch scar on the back of my right thigh from skin cancer (that fortunately did not spread to my lymph nodes, as is likely the case for this Bishop???). Skin cancer is serious business and I pray for a patient, kind, and painless recovery. And, no further need for medical intervention.

  5. Had a small skin cancer removed some years ago. Very scary stuff, even though it was so small. The Bishop is in my prayers, and I am praying for him to be filled with the love of God which dispels all fear.

  6. My dear son was so very upset when he heard this news following Mass...may God bless our dear Bishop, and grant him healing. He's had quite a lot of suffering over the past several months...

Let's remember to pray for the physical and spiritual welfare of all our clergy...and most especially, Bishop Campbell.
