Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Good clean fun

.

What a merry weekend so far. Last night was good fun. Doug took the kids begging, and my mom came over and we sat on the porch to pass out candy. We had a nice crowd, although most of our neighbors are Grinches, so we might have lost a lot of beggars due to dark houses on the court. But, the kids came bag with bulging bags (no sign of a recession there) and they were most satisfied.

Cowgirl Peach came back looking just as cute as she did when she left, and her smile was maybe even a little wider.

Josh dressed as a pirate (sort of), and Noah pulled a St. George costume together.

And this picture is for my friend Cheryl. I laughed out loud, Cheryl, when I read your comment about your M&M costume. I didn't appliqué the M on (although I should have as you can see the fusible webbing didn't hold after a few years) but other than that the story could have been the same!
And I don't know what happened to that kid's face -- he had just had eye surgery so maybe he scratched himself. Or maybe his brother scratched him. Or maybe the dog bit him (kidding!). He was only two and now he's 16, and, sadly, I have no memory.

Today we had a nice quiet day at home. After Mass this morning I went to the grocery store and then spent the afternoon just fooling around in nothing special. This evening after dinner we made All Saints doughnuts. Note to self, make them again next year. I'll post my recipe on my food blog.

Tonight we get an extra hour of sleep (what could be better?) although whoever invented the time change didn't know that children sleep the same amount no matter what the clocks say, so I take it back about the extra hour of sleep. But, we get an extra hour of something. That can't be bad.

  1. HA HA HA! What a precious M&M you have there! I'll find a pic of my M&M's later - I'm so well rested from my extra hour of sleep and we're headed out the door for Mass. :)
